Talk notes: Much like the strings of a piano that vibrate when its keys are struck, the events that we experience in our lives produce within us a natural resonance that is a kind of music. And yet there is an unpleasant interior disharmony whenever we resist events. Resistance to events that we say we do not want prevents us from seeing reality as it is. Resistance to unwanted circumstances perpetuates the painful illusion that we do not already possess everything we need to properly meet the moment.

As we become more aware of the natural resonance that all events produce within us, we begin to feel and experience events more purely. It is this whole, pure participation in the present moment that allows us to respond harmoniously, without resistance, to whatever it is that life asks of us.
