Talk notes: Much of our time in this life is spent waiting for something to happen. There are times when waiting is inescapable -- waiting in traffic, waiting in line at the grocery store, waiting for an appointment -- but we can be attending to a higher world while we are waiting in this one. We are intended to know what it means to wait within ourselves even as we are waiting in the exterior world.

Waiting on the divine has nothing to do with looking up at the sky and hoping that God will give us everything that we want. Waiting on the divine involves attending to the whole of ourselves in the present moment. It involves being willing to see what we need to see about ourselves. And we never have to wait to begin doing the spiritual work of reclaiming our attention and returning to the present moment in which we are always given exactly what we need.
