As the summer solstice approaches, all of us here at Life of Learning Foundation are getting ready for our biggest event of the year – our annual Talks in the Pines. It’s a gathering of students from around the world who will join us here in southern Oregon to take part in a series of events at our unique School for Self-Discovery. They will come here knowing they will hear higher revelations that will open their hearts and minds and help them go further in their process of self-transformation.
Our topic for this year’s event is Your Passport to a New World Beyond Stress, Struggle, and Useless Pain. Guy will explore the burden of pain we all carry, and provide specific steps for using that pain in a new way that makes it a valuable element in our journey to self-fulfillment instead of a barrier. As we use Divine principles to develop a new kind of relationship with our pain, its meaning for us changes, and the fear and resistance that only made the pain worse actually begin to dissipate.
This truly is a journey to a new interior world that changes everything about how we live and react to the world around us.
“Most of us fear (our own) painful, negative reactions, when the right relationship we’re created to have with them is to see their appearance as both a revelation and invitation... to help us awaken, and remember a Divine spiritual strength yet-to-be realized.” — Guy Finley
We’re all familiar with pain in its many forms. Regret, disappointment, feeling betrayed, unrequited love, rage, guilt, feeling overwhelmed, rushing, wanting revenge – the list goes on and on.
And it seems we spend a major part of life trying to avoid pain. We avoid things we think we won’t like. We prepare our circumstances and ourselves as best we can to ward off experiences that will trigger us. And we become masters of distraction through eating, entertaining ourselves, numbing ourselves out. But there always comes the point when we have to “pay the piper,” and generally, by that time we’ve learned nothing from the experience but another way to try to avoid the pain in the future.
And then there are times when we fight the pain by joining it. We wallow in depression, erupt in anger, and complain to everyone about how hard our life is.
But everything in the universe has a meaning and a value, and that’s true for pain as well. For the alert spiritual aspirant, it can be a gift – a message from above to show us where we’ve been hurting ourselves, causing our own difficulties, and multiplying the pain we feel over events that never had to be so bad.
Or, if the pain is due to a loss or illness that could not be avoided, that higher guidance could help us use the shock to better understand our place in the universe and grow in resilience, acceptance, and compassion.
Pain can help us grow beyond pain if used correctly. By pushing it away, we end up suffering uselessly instead of using it, as we’re meant to, for our higher transformation. Understanding these truths about how to use pain for our benefit becomes our passport on a journey to a New World where we can consciously use our pain to deepen our relationship with the Divine and never suffer in the same way again.
During our time together, Guy will be our guide on the journey beyond pain (as we presently understand it) to this New World. And we will stop at a number of mileposts along the way.
Here’s a taste of some of the new vistas that will open before us while we drink in the beauty of the celestial landscape:
These lessons and more will give us new eyes with which to see ourselves, our true purpose, and the real meaning of pain and how to use it. You’ll come away with new understanding of the beautiful truth that, everything we think happens to us is in fact happening for us.
You’ll understand the love and mercy of the Divine, and you’ll be better able to recognize all the gifts of the Divine, no matter how they are wrapped.
What follows for you will be a deep sense of gratitude and a trust in the goodness of life. Then you will no longer experience pain the same way again. You will have moved beyond it to a New World.
Spend Time With Us at a True School for Self-Discovery
Your Passport to a New World Beyond Stress, Struggle, and Useless Pain promises to be an exceptional series of talks. And we are delighted that we can offer them via livestreaming, which allows people around the world to participate in our events.
But nothing compares to being fully immersed in the atmosphere of a genuine school by visiting us at our Foundation. You’ll feel the power of Guy Finley directly. And you’ll have the opportunity to experience the transcendent energy of being with other people who are working, just as you are, to drop their limitations and start on their journey to inner discovery.
You will feel the unparalleled nourishment of a true school. Your understanding will grow and your higher emotions will expand. Then you’ll be able to take all of that back home with you where it will help you experience all those familiar people and events in a new way – for your personal transformation.
Please give yourself an experience you will treasure always. Make plans to join us for this year’s Talks in the Pines. We hope to see you in person, but if not, we look forward to having you join us via livestream.
Watch for an email with an update on registering for the livestream. Once registered, you will be emailed the view links right before the talks. Replays are only available through the Replay Package.
