Almost every day I receive a letter, an e-mail, or phone call from an aspirant who wants to know, essentially, the following: "What must I do to succeed spiritually?" Or, in a slight variation on that theme: "What's the right way to do what I must in order to awaken?"

I'm going to give you five ways to make the most out of every moment of your life. They're very simple ones. Then I'm going to explain each simple one. These actually are presented to you in a specific order because there's a broader story. Whenever I order principles, there's a broader story that's told in the collective understanding of them.

Our lives, as they are, are less than half of what they are intended to be. We can recognize that something is clearly missing. Often, even though we come up with: "It's him," "It's her," "It's this," or "It's that" which is clearly missing, it turns out that we may even get these things, and things still seem to be missing in our lives...

Classroom Talk: 4/21/2024 - A tree has many leaves, and -- in one way or another -- the wind touches all of them; some shake, some quiver, some hardly move at all. And, yes: it may be said the tree "knows" their trembling; but neither the wind, nor the leaves it stirs are the tree that feels their passing touch. Thoughts and feelings are like leaves; learning to watch them move is much better than being carried away with every breeze.

Classroom Talk: 4/14/2024 - If -- by the light of remembering and considering what is Timeless, Holy, and True -- the heart is warmed and gradually enflamed, then the following must be true, even if yet to be seen: within us must dwell some sort of celestial kindling; what else can explain how such a flame is created, let alone serve as a light in the darkness of the soul... uniting the twain, making of them as one.

Classroom Talk: 3/17/2024 - Once we learn what it means to see ourselves, to accept every impression as the herald of the new self-knowledge that it brings, then we will not only understand what it means to welcome each such revelation - whether wanted, or not - but to receive, with grace, whatever we are given to see as being true about ourselves.
