The Path to Illumination Through the Discrimination of True Self: The First Shall Be Made Last and the Last First
"As above, so below"...doesn't just refer to a relationship in the scale of creation; it also, perhaps more importantly, points to our own yet unrealized possibilities with regard to our relationship to the Creator. Evidence abounds, beginning with this one simple truth...once we can see it as such:
We comprehend nothing in this world we are in save by the light -- and wisdom -- of a higher world which we are yet to make our own. As just one example of this interaction between worlds, consider the following:
To understand the nature of flight so as to duplicate it, we must first understand the principles that make it possible. The principle of anything is always anterior to the nature that expresses it. Flying does not create the principles of flight, but rather reveals them. Let's look closer:
In order to understand the principles of flight, we must enter into its world and see therein its principles by the light of a world in which we -- humanity -- have yet to enter in full. And yet, clearly, there are parts of our mind, of our soul...already there; else how could we see and know its truths? To begin to see -- and apprehend such a relationship between levels and the scale (of any seemingly disconnected worlds) requires the contemplation of their invisible relationship, for only in our most interior world can their secret relationship be realized. For instance:
Two things may be respectively the other to each other - as a mirror and the image it reflects. There is, however a priority between them which requires the second (the image) to be considered as the other in respect to the first (the mirror), and not that the first is the other in respect to the second.
For that which is first by necessity holds the second -- is its source. The first has no point of comparison anterior to itself, whereas that which is second finds that point of comparison before it. So it is with the relationship between the first, "Real I" and the second, our present sense of self...which is a creation of a ceaseless, but disconnected stream of thoughts and feelings; a fleeting sense of " I" that is mistaken as being the source of its own Cause.
