Classroom Talk: 7/24/2024 - The true purpose of any troublesome “mountain” that seems to appear out of nowhere – standing directly between us and what we want -- isn't to make us into better climbers, or even to finally crest its summit; such barriers exist for a single reason: to help us see that no impassable “mountain” exists apart from the unconscious mind that has created it.

Topics covered: There is an interior sanctuary that awaits human beings if they will only follow the breadcrumbs of truth that lead them there; There is nothing within thought that can satisfy the soul that hungers for what is true. What we really hunger for already exists; How often have we filled ourselves with things outside of ourselves -- including images produced by our own mind -- that turn out to be futile?

Classroom Talk: 7/17/2024 - There is no Love in thought; no wisdom in knowledge. There is no kindness, let alone compassion in any image; were Michelangelo himself to have painted the likeness of the most tantalizing loaf of bread ever imagined... still, it could do nothing to ease the pain of hunger.

The mind asleep to itself doesn't realize that it created the problem that it can't stop trying to resolve; and that the more it struggles to try and think through a solution to its self-induced conflict, the greater grows its struggle to escape that suffering.
