You have within you something that is quite capable of knowing what is good for you and what is not. And although presently it is necessary that you learn new knowledge and find a true source of guidance, ultimately you do not need books or teachers to know from yourself what is true about you. There is something that lives within you that will never harm itself or another human being.
When you start to understand that this ever-present truth and goodness already lives within, you won't ever need to ask, "What should I do about this fear, anxiety, bitterness, and resentment that I see in myself?" The reason that you will not need to ask another person what you should do is because you will begin to taste directly what it is like to embrace these painful negative states. As you start to catch the sleeping mind in the midst of self-compromising negative states, you will begin to lose interest in the "you" that would rather be bitter than be bright and awake.
