In this Saturday discussion Guy explains that the purpose of a spiritual discipline is to help us come to the end of it and find its value. No one can tell us what the value is; we must discover it on our own. Presently, we have an unconscious relationship with a divided nature that makes choices for us. We follow its advice because we believe it will lead to wholeness. But, life is intended to reflect our awareness of it, and through discipline we can learn to value what is whole rather than what is divided. So, instead of continually chasing a momentary sense of wholeness, we can have the better life that we seek by beginning to value being more consistent in all that we do.
