TravisFebruary 01, 2022 I was moved to complete a moment at work today. There were two people, a mother and daughter, waiting at the front entrance. They rang the bell because last time they came we were buzzing people in from the front desk. They did not realize today the doors were unlocked and they could walk right in. Two other people, father and son, were sitting in the lobby and the father was irritated after a few minutes of this. As I walked to the front entrance he said, rather loudly, the "people are so stupid!" I said "No, they are just used to the other way." That was my instinct to not go along his disparaging remark. It would have been easy to chuckle at what he said, or otherwise conform to his cruel line of thinking. But I did not. I was contrary to him, not in a confrontational way but firmly none the less. I'm sure he directed some of his vitriol towards me as I guided the ladies to the area where they could be helped. Its a bit of suffering I took on for the sake of not being cruel.
