What are some of the ways that we try to fill the sense of emptiness? In general, talking to ourselves is a big thing that we do unconsciously. We don't want to reestablish ourselves, to rebuild the self that feels threatened by emptiness; we want to lose the self that is afraid of emptiness. Self-pity, complaining and planning for the future are a few other ways that this lower consciousness tries to fill the sense of emptiness. Stay in the place inwardly where emptiness introduces you to something new. Before life can give us something new it has to take from us what we are clinging to that hurts us.
