It's one thing to "believe" in the living Light of Christ, and another (all together) to actually be able to stand in it in our hour of need. But one must be willing to see the truth of this... in spite of the deep conditioning that tells us "to believe is to possess". Belief is only the precursor to the kind of surrender it takes to allow God full possession of the soul, the prerequisite to Christ's entrance into the temple of the heart. Yes, many profess a living relationship with the Christ because they are able to imagine that sweet feeling when not facing thoughts that compel them to consider negative conditions in their lives. But the moment the skies darken, all they see is looming clouds... not the radiance that reveals all clouds as being momentary circumstances actually created to help glorify the Light that reveals them. All of this is to say that you must now make the transition from being a hopeful believer into a dedicated discoverer of the FACT of Christ's life in your own. Only that realization will deliver you from the dark states that now drag you down into their world. As for "how" to make this discovery known, for now, that your present dissatisfaction with your relationship with Christ is the first step... and that the Light that revealed this need to you -- to go farther -- was "sent" to you from the Light itself. Now you must respond.
