  • To be able to differentiate between fact and feeling is the first step in eventually being able to use your attention properly.
  • Facts stand by themselves, but feelings always come with something that justifies them.
  • You are born with the capacity to live in another world, but in order to do so you must first develop the ability to take yourself there.
  • You can know all the spiritual truth in the world, but until you have the attention to be able to act on what you know, it holds no value.
  • Not wanting a feeling ensures your attention remains on what you don't want.
  • This exercise in attention will introduce you to what it means to consciously withdraw your attention from one thing and place it on another.
  • You will practice shifting your attention from a part of your body to its function - e.g. eyes and seeing, ears and hearing.
  • Being able to move your attention is the same as beginning to reclaim it.
