- When we get upset it's because we have a belief that things ought not be how they are
- Thinking life is supposed to be easy is a staggering false belief
- If life isn't supposed to be easy, what is it supposed to be? Meaningful
- There is a pain that remains buried in most human beings because of unanswerable conflict in them
- The conflict you feel never goes away when you think it must be answered by you
- Punishing yourself doesn't prove that you're really loving, it proves that you're asleep
- Another false belief is that there is a path, that there's somewhere to go, something to become
- The light of awareness in the present moment is the only place where true change takes place
