The following thoughts of mine are just words, but perhaps you'll see between them -- and over them, to the "otherness" that they would describe, and for which you seek.

What is authentically new cannot be sought after--even though there are deep parts of our heart that clamor for its uninterrupted presence. Truth be told, this order of new life-what amounts to a ceaseless Immaculate Conception-- (it) cannot be known because anything outside of it belongs to one order or another of imagination, to a "knower" that, by definition, sits in the past.

The only other thought I would leave you with is that this same level of imagination that stimulates the sensation of newness also acts as a barrier to it.

Any time forces are married -- in any world -- there is at once conception: labor, birth, life, and death (to use words, as inadequate as they may be). What this means is that not only is the newness you long for unknowable, but it brings with it a distinct kind of (conscious) suffering within the one that is the expression of the same. Many aspirants -- especially those first beginning to die to themselves (in the true sense of the word) -- encounter this indescribable, unknowable new order of "pain" and turn away believing that they have taken a misstep. And so it goes: The upward path consists of rejoining oneself to what seems incomprehensible to oneself at the same time.
