Recently I have become involved in a business interest with some gifted and kind people who seem motivated beyond selfish interest. The magnitude of the possibilities seems unlimited...and the outcome would be good for everyone (on the earth). But, I need, want to, to clarify my own motives so that my decisions don't involve the ego and its wants. My desire is to act from the true self...to help make the world a better place, but fear the opposite (since I know myself!) Any response to the reality of my situation would be very welcome! (From student correspondence)
I cannot...and will not comment on personal questions with regards to what one should or should not do as concerns business questions, health issues, or family matters. However, here are a few thoughts to consider; they may help shed some light on the moment at hand:
Virtually nothing and no one is what it appears to be; this doesn't mean to fear opportunity, but to respect and regard what one already knows is true about the world we live in. Keeping in mind that we are the world, it is a place of concealed motives, corruptive competition, and dangerous ambition. That being said, one must do what one feels is right and true. If your intuition tells you this is something you must be involved with, then by all means enter into it for the sake of the goodness that you feel will come out of it.
One last thought...It is written in the Koran one must "put his faith in Allah, but tie up his camel." In esoteric language this means: remember yourself (and God's will) by remaining as watchful over your desires as you are able to; work to do this, and everything else (that's important) will take care of itself; it's hard to remember that our real-life -- one's True self -- is not so concerned with outcome as it is with what comes into it and what "meets" it there.
