Praying to change the world around us is pointless until we see that the world around us is the way it is because we are the way we are; only in the realization of this truth -- and in our agreement to make the sacrifices inherent in its revelation -- is there hope for the world, and for us, as well.
Part 2
No negative reaction to any revelation can change the condition that gives rise to it, let alone change the unconscious nature responsible for its painful appearance.
The Truth will set you free. We don't want to see what is true about our reaction to the moment; yet the first requirement for anything to be healed is that it must be revealed. This consciousness denies what it has seen and creates a process of deflection, using certain devices that will indicate what to do, i.e. blame, judgement, defensiveness. Using these devices insures you'll never leave the consciousness that creates them. Be aware of anything in you that doesn't want to be who and what you are in the moment. If you can be aware momentarily of the consciousness that denies the content of itself, that's the Light, and it is the only way to discover that what you see is not really you. Your task is to enter into the awareness of that nature, not to let that nature tell you what to be aware of. Catch yourself tying to change the experience of yourself; just see it.
