- The ambitious "self" never stops to consider how the source of its motives may be secretly self-centered, while it is quick to judge others for what it sees as being their self-absorbed actions.
- The ambitious "self" is incapable of apologizing for the mental, emotional, and even physical wreckage it creates in the lives of others as it runs through and over who or whatever it feels it must to make itself whole. On the other hand, it expects everyone else to be sorry, to make amends for any pain they bring into its life in their struggle to achieve the same.
- The ambitious "self" is often aggressively suspicious of others in that, somehow, they may be up to something that poses a threat to the "magnitude" of its imagined estate. What it can't see...is that the real source of its fear about others is born of knowing--to the extent it can--just how distrustful it can be in the heat of some desperate moment.
- The ambitious "self" is without any doubts, even though it habitually resists--with great confidence--anything that challenges the numerous positive images it has created for itself...from itself.
- The ambitious "self" is never without some plan to achieve what it imagines will--one day--bring an end to its bottomless appetite for the approval of others, even as it ignores the following that's right before its eyes: no matter how much it's managed to "feed" the ceaseless need of its own indwelling horde, still...they cry for more!
- The ambitious "self" loves to create "mountains out of mole hills," because that way it always has something important to overcome, or otherwise climb!
