A possibility exists for a human being to live without fear. Fear runs very deep in a human being. We measure fear by what we think is fearful but this is not connected to the real nature of fear. Perfect Love casts out fear. You never see the fear but the situation or representation of it. It exists as an invisible principle and force that manifest it through circumstances.
I Corinthians Chapter 12: The Use of Spiritual Gifts. There are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit and the same God works all things in all persons, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. God has composed the body in the same way. All the many members of the body though they are many are one body and so also is the body of the living Christ. There is no division in the body; each member has the same care as the others.
I Corinthians Chapter 13: The Excellence of Love. Love transcends personal relationships. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. When I was a child I spoke, thought and reasoned like a child but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
If we don't have this impersonal love, if we don't understand the whole of Christ's body we have nothing. Childish things, what is useless, separates us from love. All things under the sun serve a purpose. What is useless has to do with time and space and whether an individual uses it or not. Our purpose determines what is useful or useless. Wanting position, approval, and power are all useless. Giving our lives over to conditions and states is useless. One day hopefully we will outgrow these childish things, sensation and power.
Most human beings spend their lives with an unconscious mindset of, this is where I am and this is where I need to be, get, do, etc. We think every moment between where I am and where I want to be is useless. Then we rush to get past these supposedly useless moments. The root of rushing is fear, fear of the consequences of being late, of getting behind.
Understanding begins with wholeness. No psychological pressure exists in us apart from the thought that is pushing us on to where we think we need to be, imagining we will be relieved of the pressure if we get where we want to be. Fear sets up anxiety and we rush to get rid of the pain. It drives us through a continual circle trying to get rid of the feeling of not being and getting where we are supposed to be. We can't rush without being afraid. Anxiety produces the opposites in the mind. One part believes another part is different than itself. Even when we get what we want, we are still left with the same divided mind; it doesn't go away and we end up back in the same predicament again.
Real love is the ever-flowering fulfillment of a complete relationship when a human being is whole within himself and the universe around him. There is nothing in life that we are trying to get to that isn't already disappearing into time. Everything is in a constant state of appearing and disappearing in time. Right where we don't want to be something new is appearing but we don't want to see it because we embrace useless states. An unattended mind generates a new destination to get a new sense of self, hoping it will be different when it arrives.
Instead of doing the bidding of the useless state, do what is now. This is the whole body and that is the nature of love. Dedicate your life to be in the place that you are. Work at understanding your life in God's life and God's life in you.
