Part 1
Giving yourself empty things to do can't fill the emptiness you feel inside, so... risk leaving that space empty; allow it to be filled with something you can't give yourself: freedom from the fear of feeling empty.
Part 2
The will of a desire doesn’t exist without the object it desires to obtain, whereas God’s will has no separate object; Divine love has no object apart from subject.
Part 3
The 10 Commandments expose the little-realized fact that we are not free simply because we can choose... but rather we choose according to the nature we serve. And, that as we are awakened to see the truth of our complicit relationship with a lower nature -- whose bidding has become our will -- in that same moment we will know, without having to take thought, not to identify with it.
Part 4
Our true spiritual task is not to use our will to obey God, but -- rather by the grace of God’s will -- to see how we are ruled by the will of an unconscious desire; and where, for seeing this as true... to deny that will, along with whatever parts of us still depend on it for our familiar sense of self.
Part 5
Blessed are those who agree to drink from the "bitter cup" because as it empties to reveal its secret sweetness... the whole of life takes on that quality.
