God's Education of the Soul

Life is not intended to be a journey through a pleasure carnival. The purpose of your life is the education of your soul. What you have accepted is your soul's captivity. Your soul is capable of being so much more present than anything you can do in this body. You have been given a series of opportunities to learn the lessons necessary to develop. Thought has a place in your life but it is not your purpose. The education of the soul has to do with the purification of the heart. The heart was never intended to harbor negative states. It was intended to be a home for the eternal relationship with Truth.

Once you see and understand something you are released from the captivity of your own ignorance. The education of the soul is born in the moment you see the light. When you understand something, it is because it was given to you in the moment. The education of the soul is like a tree. The willing soul is drawn into the center of things. At first it thinks it is just a leaf and then discovers it is part of a twig and then that twig is part of a limb, a branch and the trunk of the tree. Each lesson helps you to see how much more of the whole you really are. The realization that you are more than the veins in the leaf. Little by little the willing soul is brought into something greater. Each step is educating the soul in its part in the whole of creation. To see heaven in a grain of sand is to hold eternity in your hand. We are meant to enter into the endless life of God.

A young gold miner asked a famous gold miner how he was so successful, was it is strength? "No, you don't understand. Here is my yellow canary, Tweety. I never went into a cave that Tweety didn't want to go into. The soul was created to have within it a certain friend that keeps the soul from getting into jams. We were never intended to be willing participants in the land of darkness. The real lesson isn't in what you can come up with but what you came up with. Plans are always a form of resistance to what we perceive. What you see in the moment is what the "I" that is active in you wants you to see. You see a dark day because it belongs to what is dark in you that is seeing in the moment. So, your being is directly connected to what you see.

An event is a lesson you have to learn not a lashing you have to take. Your seeing is always an effect of some desire. You can't see something without the will to see it. Will precedes what it beholds. Your sense of self is really the effect of the will active in you. You see because of what you are experiencing. Change the will in you and you will change all of your desires. The active force that sees is what needs to change.

Part of the education of the soul is for the soul to regain sovereignty over the mind and heart, to regain the will that can choose what comes into the house. It is the nature and the will that desires that has to change. There already exists a will that is whole and is everything. What we hold in our mind and hearts that causes us pain is what proves that something else is sovereign within us. We hold all of this by a remembering will. You are afraid of that person because you remember something about them or a similar experience. It is a will of separation that resists everything. It is what destroys the body and soul and harbors all bad things. It relives everything and sees life through these dark states.

There is nothing in the universe that says we have to remember anything we don't want to. You were made to be sovereign over your life. Your nature does nothing but abuse you and then when you can't take it anymore it gives you ice cream. Wealthy foster parents raised a young girl. Most of the time they were cruel to her but sometimes they gave her something special. When she grew up, she had her own place. Her foster parents came to visit her and degraded her home. She said to them, "What I keep in my house is no one's business but my own. You have no authority in my house."

God's house is the house of understanding. You can will God's will and not the will of your mind (foster parents). You have to leave the house of your past for a greater understanding. A willingness to have first things first. "When I remember you, you'll remember me, that is your word in my heart kept through eternity." You have the God given right to develop your mind and heart and surrender the active will to God's will. Give up being a captive of what you don't want. The state you don't want belongs to the flesh. It is not your will. Your real will is the will of the Father eternally.
