10 Ways to Increase Your Spiritual Strength

Spiritual strength has nothing to do with power over anything. What does it mean to have spiritual strength? It does not mean having the strength to push away what is troubling you. We all have the ability to transcend everything that happens to us. However, we are never safe if we live in fear. Spiritual strength is a relationship between an awakened nature and what happens to it moment to moment.

Shifting our weight from one foot to the other is an example of natural transference. In the spiritual world, we attempt to do the same thing -- transfer the weight of our pain (through blaming, negative emotions, etc.), rather than transcend it. However, nothing changes, because we cannot gain spiritual strength through the transfer process. Real Strength and Wisdom are the same thing. Spiritual "weight" is measured by resistance. The greater the resistance, the "weightier" the problem seems (because it runs counter to my desire or belief).

Story: Old swordfish "schooling" young marlins. His wise saying to them: All that glitters is not food. In other words, beware of hooks. (Don't eat whatever comes along.) We accept the very first "help" that comes along. Why? Because we think we are "not enough" by ourselves. Real strength does not need to be sought after, because each moment is never resisted. Why? Because one sees that each moment is for their spiritual education.

Use your life to perpetually transcend yourself, which is life's true purpose. However, you have to suffer your weakness to do this, which no one wants to do.

A state is available to each human being which is greater than anything you now know. Spiritual strength can be seeded in a human being, but there is a cost -- your suffering. Any birth involves suffering. You must not transfer this weight to the first thing that walks by. Stay with it, and then it is integrated. We don't need to be more powerful than life. Just bear your weakness and what you need will be given to you in that moment from within yourself. Agree to let God give you the strength you didn't have on your own. Everything that happens is good -- everything! Everything is for you. Be willing to suffer whatever you need to suffer to understand this.
