Integration

The reason that we do what we do is because we are looking for the truth of ourselves. It doesn't matter - wanting to learn how to cook, wanting to start a new business, looking for a new relationship, wanting to learn how to write a book, surf, sumo wrestling - whatever it may be. And as many people as there are hearing or reading this... wherever you are, all over the world and in this room...

There isn't an instant in which you and I are not being touched by life for the purpose of life being changed by its own touch. Creation is never not happening. But to take part in it, to be a participant in it, requires that we understand that presently we are meeting life from a mind that is fast asleep in itself because it is intimately connected with desire that imagines a way to resolve itself.

Who you really are lives above the world of thoughts and feelings. But living from the mental how, we seek answers for painful questions. Living in the spiritual Now, we understand that there is no intelligence in torment, so we simply drop those questions. The everyday mental life, which naturally includes asking how, has its practical place in the world of auto mechanics...

Can you can see that, "If I'm ever to have freedom, somehow or other I'm going to have to accept everything that's given to me"? It seems counterintuitive, so let me explain why it's true. There are two orders of transformation. They are not really separate; they are in a constant exchange, just like the river is in a constant exchange as water flows in and out at each point...

To make bread you have to bring a lot of different ingredients together. Each ingredient by itself, or even mixed together, does not make bread. The individual ingredients must have heat applied and be married together in order to create something altogether new that is more than the sum of the individual parts.
