Find the Mountain Within

It is your Being that must change, not the conditions that set the lower levels of it into unconscious motion. And while right ideas can assist in leading you to this transformation, not a single one can do for you what you alone must do for yourself.

Be the Mountain, not the individual storms that lash its side.

Upon it...rocks will slide, flash floods will rage, but the Mountain remains the witness to these forces that pass over and through its range; it doesn't think, "I am the raging water, I am the dirt that collects in its stream, I am being washed away." It alone remains...as must the higher part of you that can see these things as being True.

If you won't consciously suffer these thoughts and feelings that torment you, nothing else can be done save for you asking more questions about "what can I do," and then hoping for some consoling words...

Trying not to suffer -- whatever method -- plans, promises, justification, consolation -- clearly doesn't work.

Now the time has come; and if you would rise, if you would realize the Mountain within, you must find the "other way."

There is only one way to be wholly fearless in the face of any suffering: one must come to know -- and to understand -- how to share in the conscious suffering of creation as it reveals itself through a ceaseless act of birth and death. And then...one must agree to embrace these seemingly opposing parts of life until they reveal the concealed Creator from out of which they come.
