We are intended to live in a Wisdom whose inclusive nature permits the soul it possesses to realize its own being in connection to the universe. It is impossible to succeed in this life until a person knows life's real purpose and this success cannot be measured by the standards of the world. Purpose and success are one thing.
Our suffering is proportional to our definition of success. We do what we think is the good in what we do. We want to appear wise or compassionate. We go to work to buy clothes and have shelter and feed our families. There is a good in it for us. The good of something has to be related to its purpose because nothing in life is good in and of itself. What is good is something that is always in relationship with what is Good. Our lives are supposed to be in relationship with this Good.
Part of our feeling of being successful is connected to our image of what success is. Success has nothing to do with an image we hold in our minds. Our idea of good is often interrupted by reality and then we come up with the next supposed good that is just a resistance to what happened. Through a series of experiences life proves to us that what we thought was good and successful is nothing but a punishment. God is not trying to take something from us but show us what is better. Limitations are meant to become conscious to us for the possibility of being transformed. It is only in reaching the end of what we know that we can begin to grow. Life is continually bringing to our door the next opportunity to learn and succeed in the development of our soul which is a reflection of our creator. There is built into us the success of the soul.
Nothing that grows can grow any better or worse than the nature acting upon it. Form is a manifestation of the will. No form of itself can perfect itself. It is perfected through generations and environment and becomes a new expression of the original form. The tree changes with the weather and seasons. In order for form to be further perfected it no longer can be what it was before. It has to surrender its former form for the cycle to continue. The purpose of the tree is evident in the tree. For a human being his purpose is only evident in his relationship with life.
It is only through our relationship with others that life shows us something that is in us that is not good. Our relationships reveal the states within us. The light reveals what isn't of the light nature. We have an invisible nature that can never be satisfied and a timeless nature that is goodness itself. There is a success we are meant to have but we have to go through things in order to understand and grow. The problem is our nature wants to be the active will. We want to select what the good is but history has proven we are incapable of doing this.
The soul must agree to be perfected by the will within it that longs for the Good. That soul can't produce the good but it can be made good and given goodness. The soul discovers the goodness of itself by surrendering to the goodness that wants to act upon it. Wish for a new order of good. The will to awaken oneself is greater than the soul upon which it acts. The will of the tree is greater than the tree. The will is always active and present in the soul. This greater will is urging us to realize who we are through it. It wants us to be better human beings by meeting ourselves and what we are. The will that urges us to be free is freedom itself. It shows us our limitations and helps us realize that of ourselves we can't get past these limitations but by our humiliation and surrender the light can transform these forms within us.
We need to begin to place ourselves on the side of that which shows us our limitations and surrender our will to its will. Then these forms are changed because we have yielded them up to let the light do to it what it wishes. The success of the soul is built into the soul. It was created for the purpose of succeeding. The will to succeed comes from what created it. There needs to be an alignment between our intention and this higher will. Our task is to bring us to the intention to be new. Then life will show us through our relationships everything we need to see about ourselves and what we are. We can either hate what we see and resist it or we can accept it and surrender ourselves to this higher will again and again until we come to a new understanding that will change us. Agree to this success. We must take ourselves to the one small part of good in us and let it change our soul into the spirit eternally.
