Key Lesson
Part 1
Whatever is created in time... is a creation of time; and all creations -- in, and of time -- must pass when their time is up.
Part 2
If we ever look closely, we would see that the fear we have of the future is always dressed as a beggar; but if we dared even a closer look, we'd see that not only does that beggar bear a striking resemblance to us... but he is dressed in our clothes, and is in our shoes.
Part 3
Any tomorrow we imagine cannot free us from some painful moment in our past because whatever the nature of that time we hope will come to free us... does not exist from the time we hope to escape.
Exercise
Lose your taste for tomorrow. The diamond of the future always turns out to be a lump of coal. Any form of identification with a time to come is a form of evil that separates one from the Divine. Where this consciousness goes, experience follows. Our minds are always visiting the Land of When, a time when we'll be free; which rises out of the Land of Then, past desires and regrets. They are a singularity; future and past are one divided nature. A wandering mind should never go unattended. Remember that the pain you're in this moment is not your pain. Be aware of the torment that comes with taking thought for tomorrow. Become willing to suffer the unconscious nature that promises freedom, but never delivers. Understand time's temptation, and become liberated by understanding that the Land of When and the Land of Then are one and the same. Lose your taste for thought. Remember that freedom resides only in the presence moment.
