Part 1
Imagining all that remains to be done to realize the contentment we seek -- or that we must struggle with to attain some illusive peace of mind -- is like trying to calm the ripples on the surface of a reflecting pond... by throwing a polished stone into its waters.
Part 2
There is no doubt some consolation in attaining an intellectual understanding of our relative place in the universe, but it is not the same as realizing ourselves as not just the instrument of Divine, eternal forces but as the "moment-to-moment" incarnation of their holy reconciliation.
