Realize the Unseen Relationship Between Meditation and Self-Liberation

Practice the Living in the "Here and Now" Meditation daily. In this way, you will realize the unseen relationship between meditation and self-liberation.

Part 1) Say in silence: "I Am" (on the in-breath) "Here" (on the out-breath). Meaning, I am in my body, aware of, and as fully present to as possible, the presence of every sensation moving into or through me.

Part 2) On the next breath, in silence: "I Am" (on the in-breath), "Now" (on the out-breath). Meaning, my attention is now fully vested in the awareness of my own consciousness, along with whatever sensation it is registering.

Part 3) On the third and last breath, in silence: "I Am" (on the in-breath), "That I Am" (on the out-breath). Meaning, I am not only my senses, as well as my consciousness of them, but my true nature, the timeless Self, is more than the sum of these parts that live in time. 

This practice may be done whenever you wish...whether just once or for the full recommended five minutes.

You can do this "living meditation" with your eyes open or eyes closed. When you first start this practice, do not do it for more than five minutes. Let it be a silent activity for three or four minutes that you gradually extend as you come to understand this idea of "I am now," which is simply that you are not apart from this present moment. This moment is a timeless singularity which you are intended to participate in so that in your awareness of yourself within it, you can see how everything comes into you, changes everything, and leaves you. You can see it because you become it -- and as you become it, you're no longer afraid of what comes in and what leaves.
