Conscious Love is the Divine interior act of intentionally suffering the pain and sorrow of those we meet along the Way; it must include our willingness to consciously sacrifice any part of us that wants to avoid, or otherwise look away from this suffering... simply because it makes us momentarily aware of our own.

Exercise
Part 1: Use your relationships the way they were intended to be used -- to see a part of yourself that you don't yet know. Make the intention to deliberately see another person, by looking into their face and seeing their pain. In your awareness of them, you'll be able to die to the part of you that refuses to see life the way it is, and both of you will be changed.
Part 2: Catch dark feelings and states as they come up in you -- such as the rushing or jealous nature -- and realize that the state is saying, will you look at me? Accept the invitation to look directly at it, and through this act of love you will be changed because you are no longer apart from what you see.
