The Secret of Finding and Giving Forgiveness

The true spiritual life is about a human being realizing that his life is not to be used by antagonistic thoughts and feelings.

Story 1: An angry couple are arguing. She says, "You just don't love the way I do!" We get everything that we are right back. You are not on earth to be cruel to anyone. It is possible to be in life without an enemy.

Story 2: Two people in a relationship. One has an epiphany: to be with the other conscious of their tendency to attack them with their mind. The one says, "with or without your forgiveness, I am starting my life over." Real forgiveness has nothing to do with the other person. You are not better than your enemy. You are your enemy.

Story 3: A little girl has a Raggedy Ann doll that she takes with her everywhere. One day she just decides she does not want to carry it around with her anymore.

There is an order of being that has nothing to do with the order of time. Thought is consolidated time.

Who is my enemy? That which sets me apart from life. To find real forgiveness for another is divine in origin because first you must be granted what you give. "Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we are forgiven." Means: "Give me the peace I need through your Light which will allow me to be free of my debt to you."

If I am no longer set against myself, I can't be set against you. I need to realize that I no longer need to know who I am by what I have been. Say, "This is no longer about what you are, but what I am."  It hurts to be a hateful person, but we blame our self-laceration on others. I can say, "I have more important things to do."
