No unwanted, painful condition in life can be separated from the parts of us that resist its appearance... anymore than what we see in a mirror can exist without what's being reflected within it!

Exercise

See What You Are Drawn To

No disturbance appears without our awareness of it, but we are habitually drawn only to the resistance we feel and what must be done to reconcile it. No lasting peace is possible until we work to become more aware of the lower nature behind this, instead of what IT wants us to do or be aware of. 

When you feel yourself troubled (anxious, fearful, worried, etc), fully bring your attention to the opposites that appear in the moment simultaneously. See what you are drawn to. Awareness of the opposites harmonizes them - ending the disturbance - and something new is born.
