Do you want to know what tears the heart apart? What dries up the mind and kills the soul? It is the lies that remain inside of human beings because we have been duped into protecting something that secretly punishes us. And we mistake the idea of being protected for the same as being whole and complete when, of course, we can't be protected without a fear being protected by that lying nature.
There is evidence of a great Cosmic Doctor, and I just hinted at it. Why can’t a lie can't stay buried? Have you ever had a splinter? Do you know your body will eject the splinter? Now, are you sitting there thinking: "Eject, eject, eject, eject… get out of there, you bad splinter… be gone!"? No. The body rejects anything that is not part of its system – anything that's interfering, infecting its wholeness, doesn't it?
In my own life, I’ve seen unbelievable evidence of how you're sitting there, you don't even know what's going on, and suddenly something appears that was in you that you didn't know was in you. And like a splinter, it comes out! Why? Because there is an intelligence to the physical organism that knows what is a part of it and what is not. The healing of the body has to do with a greater system, an awareness of an overall system that is capable of recognizing the tiniest little invader! You're sitting there eating, and your brain is saying, "Alert! Alert!" because you just took something into you that is hurting you, but you're still saying, "Oh, that's good!" Then three hours later, you're miserable. Your mind, this body knew that something had come into it that didn't belong in it, and had begun the healing process long before you even knew you needed to be healed, didn't it?
So we have evidence of a physical intelligence that will not allow a foreign entity to enter into it without rejecting it. Now, imagine for a moment a small pond fed by an offshoot of a perennial stream that runs by it. That little pond isn't moving like the stream, yet it has a life all its own. It is teeming with critters and plants because it is being refreshed and changed by the ebb and flow of the stream. That body has a life of its own.
How about a forest? We don't think to ourselves that a forest has a body, a life of its own, and it does! Some people are even starting to realize that when you go in and cut through a forest, you change the body. You disturb the electromagnetic field and the relationship between all the creatures there to such an extent that the forest begins to die. Because in our arrogance, in our stupidity as beings, there's no awareness of relationship, or that everything has a body.
How about the earth? Is not the earth a body? And the body of earth is made up of her rivers, her streams, her ponds, her forests. There is a body of the earth, and it has an intelligence all its own. What about the body of the solar system? Is not the solar system a body? Every last one of the spheres within this system is in constant contact with each other through a host of different radiations, vibrations, all of which impact every single thing taking place on all spots, at all times, in that system. It is a body. And it is an intelligent body, because you can't change one thing anywhere in that body that doesn't affect everything else and the way it moves within that body. What about the galaxy in which our solar system revolves? It's a body.
I'm taking pains to try to get your mind wrapped around the idea that just because you think you're the only body, doesn't mean you're the only body… and more importantly, that these bodies are whole in themselves and have an intelligence in them. The earth, as we know, is going through a fairly severe correctional curve right now, isn't it? But the fact of the matter is, it probably has a lot more to do with the larger body of which it is a part producing the changes than what we think human beings have wrought. Although we have rotted this planet, trying to do what? Heal ourselves! Can you imagine destroying the planet, at least in this time, for the purpose of making our life better? Only a human being who is deceived believes something like that can make sense.
We just looked at physical bodies. What about the body of laws? For instance, we don't think there's a mathematical body, a body of symbols. Do you really think that scientists “discover?” Or do they uncover? They uncover. No one discovers anything! They uncover an existing relationship between bodies, and then they manifest the relationship of those bodies, and they win the Nobel Prize!
Now, every one of these bodies has intelligence. All these bodies are related, and they all belong to a larger body. You can think of your hand as a body. Your hand is a kind of a body, but can your hand work by itself? You say, "Yes, it did yesterday when I ate all that cake!" In a way, that's right, it did… because there was nobody there, just the hand: eat, eat, eat!
The reason that all lies must eventually be revealed is because there's a body of Truth. No darkness can remain unrevealed because there is a body of Light. You've heard the idea of the body of Christ, the body of God, the body of the Divine. If you're emotionally capable of it, meaning if you haven't been stunted by the rejection (understandably so) produced by people banging you on the head trying to get you to believe in something, then you can say, "Wow, that's pretty fascinating stuff! A lie is a splinter in the body of Christ!” Isn't it? And eventually it works itself out, doesn't it?
The funniest thing about human beings is they actually try to push the splinter back down. Would you do that to your own body? When a physical splinter works its way out we say, "Thank God, I didn't know that was in there." But when it comes to lies, the deceiver says, "Wear bandages." Translation: Buy something, do something, escape the situation, blame someone… anything but allow this beautiful body of Light, this beautiful Intelligence, this beautiful Truth do what it's meant to do, which is to reveal that which has been hidden within it. Because you see, what's hidden within it can't stay hidden in it. It has no authority. The only authority that a lie, an act of dishonesty, has inside of a human being is when we agree that there's something valuable about keeping the thing in the dark.
Here's an example: You walk up to somebody and say something to them, and they say something back to you. And you know there's something wrong with what they just said. You know there's a lie acting in them. So what do you do? Mechanically, you will consent to their misbehavior. Often you will fawn in front of people who tell bad jokes and use bad language, who somehow or another present what you know, for you, is inappropriate. But you'll pretend that it's funny, pretend that's it's okay. You know it's true that you do that!
In moments like that, you have just participated with a lie, haven't you? But henceforth, you can see and know for yourself: "I cannot do that!" And you will begin, in that moment, to realize that there does live in you something that meets moments from a nature that you never knew before. And why do we want to do that? Because once we become conscious of the liar – once we become conscious of this nature – guess what's happening? It's starting to work its way out! The very revelation is extraction, isn't it? It is, whether you know it or not. But it isn't that the darkness in us – these unregenerate states of energy – is thrown out. It's that these conditions then begin to serve the purpose for which they were created in the first place, which is that they are changed. And as they are changed, you are changed. And as you are changed, the world – of whose body you are a part – changes… across the board.
