No one likes to be told what to do. The odds are, if someone tells us what to do, we are not going to do it. This is how most human beings behave. But we are intended to outgrow this stubborn, prideful nature that will not consider anything higher than its current view. If we are encouraged to do something that is good for us, what is it within us that refuses? The answer is that it must be something that is against our spiritual healing.
We are meant to spend as much time as we possibly can in the healing waters of truth, which is one and the same as being present to the whole of ourselves in the moment. Presently we do not spend much of our time there, but we can enter into the waters anytime we choose. Whenever we are not in the waters, we are not in them by choice. For us presently, there always seems to be something a little more important to do than to just be present and allow what stands in our way to be revealed to us. If we want to be healed -- if we want to find freedom -- then we must agree to consciously meet the parts of ourselves that refuse to go into the waters. Then what is broken will begin to be healed.
