Inner Peace

Remastered Classic Talk: 11/25/15 - 

Part 1: If it is our wish to touch what is whole, to be touched by what is holy... then we must stop "reaching" (for it) and start being the seeing that is already the whole of us.

Part 2: We cannot "make" things whole any more than the moon makes itself full by its own light. Rather our work is to serve as a witness to life's ceaseless, concurrent appearance of fullness and emptiness and, by so doing, to unite (within us) the awareness of Timeless consciousness with the experience of its own creations living in time.

Part 1: In any peace we name -- imagine, pursue and then struggle to protect -- lurks a fear that stalks those who dream they can possess what is beyond imagination. Part 2: Before we can hope to enter into the Peace of the Divine Life that dwells within us, we must learn how to search for it in the Light Place.

When we know we can't put out a fire by feeding it more wood, then why don't we see the futility of trying to calm a mind enflamed by its own thinking... by adding more thoughts?

The only thing a thousand failed attempts to find the peace we seek proves is this: some unknown part of us -- we've mistaken as being us -- keeps us looking in all the wrong places! This is why we must have new, true self-knowledge, because the journey to silent joy begins within us, or not at all.

Classroom Talk: 9/21/2022 - Here is the real "secret" of starting over: No moment in life can be any newer than we are willing to be... that is, assuming we continuously agree to step -- consciously -- into its timeless stream.
