Doing the Work of Working with the Whole of Yourself

You wouldn't take a lump of sugar and put it in your coffee and not stir it. Why, because the intention of the sugar is to make the coffee sweet. The intention of the Truth is to sweeten a human being, to take them out of their bitterness by balancing their qualities. Just as sugar has to be stirred in thoroughly so you can't just come to class and do your spiritual work once in a while for anything real to happen. Sugar doesn't stir itself.

Something in us obliterates the truth and convinces us we can be and do what we want and still have the truth. But the truth is if we do not work with truthful principles and think and act upon them they will never be set in us. There needs to be something there before us that sets the crooked places straight. A fundamental law of the work is to do what you don't want to do. We have to stir our heart, mind and body. Truth acts upon us by revealing things in us as they are, not as we would have them be. There needs to be an integration of the heart, mind and body into one thing. Only the light of truth can integrate us.
