Take this Step Toward Realizing Our Changeless-Self

The true spiritual quest doesn't bring more pain - it shows you what it is inside of you that causes you pain.

What is enlightenment? When asked this question, the mind will search for thoughts and feelings to answer it. But defining enlightenment with thoughts about what it is will never bring about the change that true enlightenment produces. Enlightenment happens moment to moment, when darkness is changed by a light that comes into it.

Enlightenment brings an end to false individuality, and integrates one into a larger individuality. Why seek enlightenment? We are responding to a need to put ourselves in relationship with something that is changeless. Can we ever become one who's changeless by identifying with any part of us that wants to be changeless? No. The mind that defines what it means to be aligned with something changeless is lost in comparison with what it thinks it means to change. Real change can only occur inside of a human being by the grace of what's changeless acting upon it. Anything else is just the self, seeking the sensation found through thinking what it will mean to change.

Imagine waking up on a beautiful day and watching the day unfold as a storm passes through...what is changeless during this? The awareness of what is passing through. When you feel as though you are not changing, realize that you are not meant to get lost in the idea of what it means to change and then comparing yourself against it, but are instead meant to be part of a changeless awareness which brings divine understanding.
