Everything in the universe came from a star. We are the stuff of stars. "The central urge of every atom is to return to its source." Walt Whitman
The light within cannot be satisfied by the world. I am meant to be a reflection of that which gave me my form. The world is on a wheel of greed. We equate gaining experience (wealth, "love") as growth.
We think the road to experience leads somewhere. It doesn't. Cynicism is born.
We equate the strength of negativity with our certainty. We grow in the wrong direction. Real growth is not in time, but integration. You can't become more than you are. We can't make something of ourselves from this world.
The road home is through the power of understanding our relationship to the universe.
Real awareness is participation with the world within us.
Story: There was a great mountain by an ocean. Nearby was a little hollow log. It complained bitterly about its life. One day a rock hit it and moved it 180 degrees. Then suddenly the log heard a beautiful sound. It was the wind passing through it.
The log felt it was very great because of this, but when the sound went away the log felt even worse than before. A seagull came by and spoke to the log who said, "Yesterday I could sing. What happened?" The seagull said, "That song belongs to the mountain. Just listen. What you're longing to hear is already inside of you."
My attitude to unwanted states is to turn away from them. Only something above me can integrate me. Change takes place when I allow "what is" to pass through me.
I spend so much time not wanting my experience. I must find the self that transcends experience - being aware of emptiness and fullness. Notice the difference between talking to yourself and listening. Let what is be there. Grow into what you already are.
