How desire always imagines a solution to whatever our painful problem may be, often seeming to arrive at what feels like the perfect answer. But, desire itself is imperfect, because it is the incomplete work of an incomplete nature... trying to perfect itself as it imagines it must in order to be free. And yet, as paradoxical as it may seem, it is only through our awareness of imperfection that the light of the Divine reveals the possibility of realizing -- and manifesting within us -- its everlasting perfection.

See the "Tragic Flaws" in Resistance
We struggle everyday resisting what doesn't match up with what we believe "should be." Our resistance is seen as an advisor and "strength." But in truth, it is the source of our suffering. It is a "tragic flaw" ("hamartia").
The pain of unwanted moments is meant to reveal this tragic flaw to us. But to know this we must be willing to remain PRESENT to the resistance, rather than try to ESCAPE it.
Identify a familiar painful "character" (i.e. arrogance, judgement, worry, etc.) within you that you suspect is a "tragic flaw." Work to remain present to this character when it appears, rather than trying to change the condition it blames for it. To see that you have acted out of ignorance is the beginning of real intelligence.
