There is a very old, familiar expression that states, "The journey of 10,000 miles begins with a single step." That commonly used phrase has a great interior, spiritual meaning. It is saying, "Wherever you are, whatever you have to do, no matter what it is that is in front of you... Just start!"
Anyone who has ever done some sort of physical exercise on a regular basis knows that sometimes the mind or the body just does not want to cooperate with the desire to exercise. Many times you must do your exercises in spite of parts of yourself that would rather just "take it easy." And yet almost without fail, when your work-out is finished, your body is "thanking" you and you are more than glad to have done it.
The negative spirit of not-wanting only exists as long as an individual heeds it. That spirit has no authority on its own. Its only "power" is to trick people into following its trail of associative thoughts that provide reasons why they should not do what needs to be done. But in spite of that... just start.
Don't waste another minute thinking about the task that you don't want to do, and instead start doing what you don't want to do. If you will just start, you will discover that there is a part of you that not only will do what needs to be done, but will also actually enjoy doing it! Don't let resistance rule your life; just start and you will see for yourself that it has no real authority over you.
