Spiritual Keys to Make Real Changes in Your Life

Physical life is a shadow of another order -- a mirror. Everything that happens tries to tell us about another order of existence. True spiritual knowledge and knowledge of oneself go together.

We need to learn how to go through resistance. There is no such thing as something you can't do. We can't do things because we won't do them. My mind projects what needs to be done and compares it to how it thinks it should be done, and then I assume I can't do it.

Story: Two men on a wagon train arrive at a large fertile valley that was in the shadow of a huge stone overhang. One man says to the other "you can't stay here" and moves on. When he returns later, he sees that his friend has chipped away at the overhang and used it to build his house and barn.

Our life is a series of little changes that we don't see. We resist our projections of what we want. The more we think about our lives, the less we're capable of acting from them. We can make little changes. Divine life is not out of reach of a human being.

We set up resistance for fear we won't accomplish our goals. Just begin. Don't get involved with identifying with the end of something. The "I" that can't get started is a lie created for the purpose of producing resistance. In the universe there are forces whose purpose is to create resistance. Just start. A little change changes everything. Surrender. Don't keep doing what you have done. Cease your relationship with the opposite of what keeps you captive. There is no "me" who is a captive except for my own misplaced identity.
