"Love your neighbor as yourself." In moments when you feel resistance to another person's negativity, work to become aware of their suffering instead. Can I see that I have an unconscious resistance to another person's pain because their pain pains me? I'll do anything to avoid it because I believe that if I can avoid their pain, I'll avoid my own. I need to see that their pain is my pain. That's how you love your neighbor as yourself. You can't love another when you don't understand them at all. Instead of rejecting the suffering of others, use it to come awake to the part of you that can see and accept responsibility for your shared suffering, uniting you in a consciousness that cannot be corrupted.
