Let the Love of Truth Teach You to Love

Our lives are always trying to tell us something. We live in an immense invisible world. There are so many things we can't see with our physical eyes but we can see them with our senses. We only see the surface of the ground but much more lives beneath that sustains the world and all we can see with our physical eyes. So is it true with human beings. Invisible in human beings is the soul and spirit that has a root system of its own and depending on the ground they live in produces what comes out of it. Good earth, good food. The ground we live in is communicated all of the time.

If you see a dry plant, it silently communicates it needs water. There is a communication between God's life and our own. Our thoughts and feelings come from the ground we are rooted in. In this communication there is evidence of that which is communicated, good or bad. There is goodness that is not subject to our ups and downs, loss or sadness. We need our roots to go deeper. There is a relationship between one's heart and how deep the roots run.

A prince (reason) set out to marry a beautiful princess (wisdom) that he had never met before. The princess wanted to make sure that the prince really wanted her and not what she had so she disguised herself as an old hag. The prince came along and found the old sick hag and was torn between rescuing the hag or his future. She told him she would teach him some wisdom (self-knowledge) in exchange for what he had given her. And he stayed to learn the life lessons. She said to him, "Won't you tarry a little while longer, I am sure there is much we can learn together." One day when he came in from collecting food, he found the princess and she said, "Won't you tarry a little while longer, I am sure there is much we can learn together."

Our love of Truth does not run deep. We have to want the truth more than we want the sensation of thinking we have it. But the first thing we run into is the old hag, the way we actually are. We want what we image is love and give our souls over to the world. We don't know what it means to love the Truth but this discovery is the beginning of a certain communication. To love the truth is to put love first before all else. How does it grow? By loving it! We are always trying to get rid of the hag and onto the princess and the hag is the princess. In the moment the truth speaks, listen. When it calls, heed it and listen to its instructions.

There was a kingdom where all the noblemen pursued their own desires. They wanted to be the center of their own universe. One day the king sent out a message, "I need you! Things need to be done that only you can do." No one came but one. The gate was closed but the man waited and waited there for a long time. Finally, the king came out and asked why the man was there. "I have looked high and low for my own life and found nothing real. I would much rather serve a true king than forward my own nobility." "Won't you tarry a little while longer, I am sure there is much we can learn together."

Be sensitive to Truth's call in your heart. First you will meet the hag but wait by the gates for the king to come. It is the roots you put down moment to moment that are the progenitor of your reality. Blessed are those who love Truth for Truth's sake, it will fulfill its promise in you.
