Opening story: setting in a tavern... man sees a solitary man who is completely detached from the concerns of those around him... the man is slapped by someone and offered gold coins by a duke... but he gives no attention to these events and refuses the coins... the observer follows this man and questions him about his strange detachment... the man explains that he wants nothing more to do with being given something for nothing... he wanted only True Peace.
It is God, Truth, The Light alone, that can grant Peace.
We despise the fact that we sell ourselves to attempt to gain the freedom of Peace.
We think that who we think about is actually the person, when it is really only part of "me"... an image made of thought, feeling and the past.
We can win nothing from others... but we continually weigh the worth of others according to what our present desires are...
If we do not have true relationship with others, we cannot have true relationship with God...
We must become an uncompromising person who looks to no one for fulfillment.
Our sense of "control" runs hand in hand with trying to possess others... we think we "own" others in our lives... but it is pain that creates our agenda with these "others."
We have made "being wrong" into an art form.
We must be willing to be completely alone, if necessary, rather than give ourselves away... we must allow the truth of what we see in awareness alone to be our advocate.
It is the end of naming what I think will complete me that shall allow me to possess my soul truly...
