Exercise
Catch the tailor about to put on another identity. Do not accept that familiar identity. Understand that the identity is a distraction from us seeing the nature that is active in us in that unwanted moment. Anything that challenges the lower nature as it imagines itself to be is a threat. Resistance to what we see, and the blame we place on others, makes us think this proves we're different from what we witness. We are not. Already within us is the awareness that we can no longer live from this unconsciousness nature, with it's anger, impatience, fear and addictions. With this realization comes a different order of being. In a moment of strain, ask how many times you are going to put on or take off the solutions offered by this problematic nature. Use the moment to step aside and see that the observer is the observed. Wear the robe of awareness. Oppose not what opposes you. We must outgrow what troubles us and grow into what God wants of us. We must outgrow ourselves.
