Exercise
See the nature that reacts to an unwanted moment by complaining, rushing, or getting anxious, and realize that these moments come to show you that you have been identified with a "precious" sense of self. To see this is the beginning of self-knowledge. The exercise is to agree to meet the moment and R.S.V.P. -- "Risk Something Very Precious." Consciously seek out these revealing moments rather than waiting for them to happen by accident. The more unwanted moments you are willing to walk into, the fewer unwanted moments you will have because your new understanding of yourself changes your relationship with each moment. Agreeing to go into conditions that you normally resist is the path to freedom. Make the effort to see the pure fact of yourself the next time you meet an unwanted moment, then Risk Something Very Precious, that painful sense of self that comes with resisting the moment.
