"Be Willing to Meet the Devil"
When we are negative (anxious, angry, frightened, etc), we are responding to a perceived threat. We don't see that the "threat" also contains the "promise" of release if we just obey it. But this level of consciousness ("the devil") has no power, save that which we unconsciously give it. It is a divided nature that is choiceless when it is seized.
No event can seize you. This world has no power over the world above you. Be willing to meet the "devil". Go in the direction you don't want to go. Meet the thing that is telling you about yourself, instead of trying to be what it is telling you to be. Avoid nothing, and you'll find the gateway to Heaven.
