Many are those who love, but only because they are loved, and so their love is not true. But those who love, in spite of being spurned... their love alone is true.
Part 2
Don't do what hurts another, but not for the sake of being someone who doesn't do what he believes his "goodness" forbids... but, rather because by working to be watchful in that moment of being pushed to punish those who displease you... in that stillness you can see the goodness of not doing that badness.
Conscious pain makes us more sensitive. Unconscious pain makes us duller. This life is wasted if we use it to simply lift ourselves above our own suffering, which can't be done. The cycle of "Problem -> Pain -> Blame" goes nowhere. In moments we want, we effortlessly give ourselves completely to them in order to receive the life in them. The same must hold true in unwanted moments. In moments of discomfort or discontent, replace "Problem -> Pain -> Blame" with "Observation -> Realization -> Release." See that "This isn't my pain." Awaken to the fact that your discontent and suffering belongs to something that is giving you a lesson. Freedom comes from obedience. Receive the lesson, and you will be liberated from the level of consciousness responsible for the ceaseless conflict.
