The Power to Defeat Whatever Dominates You

There is only one thing behind the source of what torments and dominates us. We were not created to spend our life dominated by anything, especially our desires. A man wished to climb a mountain but every time he was confronted by a storm. No shelter he provided for himself protected him from the storm so he decided to leave everything behind and try to make it above the storm. He fails but notices there is a small shelter and meets an old man who is unruffled by the storm and eventually the storm passes.

There is real shelter, and the shelter we name for ourselves. The storms still come and shake us but in the right shelter we are safe from the clamoring and roar. When a person becomes a sincere seeker (an individual who weighs moment to moment what is truly valuable for his soul and what isn't) they realize they have been seeking in the physical world for what can only be found in the spiritual one. We can't save ourselves by what we seek. We have to exchange ourselves and must no longer be what we have been.

When an event comes a certain I pops up, just like a kernel of popcorn puffs up, to handle it. We believe we are Puffy Man, and this kernel always falls back to the nature it came from. We believe we are the whole of this nature but it is really just a single piece of popcorn. It is not the angry, worried anxious "I" that needs to be replaced; it is the whole nature that has to go.

A young woman climbs a mountain with other people, a storm descends on them and everyone pulls out all their stuff to create shelter and she wanders around looking for something and then finds snowshoes, a parka and goggles. One young man asked her where she found these items. She said, "My father makes these for me. When I find myself in a crisis my father always provides me with what I need to get me through the storm." When we understand this, no storm can ever dominate us again.

In order to resist, resent or regret any opposite there must be an observer within who the opposites to the known opposite exists. Discontentment is an opposite to my ideas of what I think I need to be content. The severity of the storm is in direct proportion to my ideas of how life should be. No storm exists apart from my opposition and resistance to what I see. The only thing that dominates us in a storm is our certainty life shouldn't be unfolding the way it is. The young girl acted from her understanding of the conditions, not from confusion produced by the storm.

The sun doesn't rise in one place that it doesn't set in another. It is active in one place and passive in another according to its natural cycles. The sun is always shining somewhere. There is no such thing as a fear setting in that isn't an opposite of a courage. The sun is active, the earth is passive and the movement is a modifying force. Life is whole. There is no such thing as darkness without the light. Remember the light, courage and joy. Give up your fear and depression and stop resisting life. Stop answering it with yourself because God has already answered it. Nothing appears that isn't part of a whole. No matter what appears the sun is rising somewhere else. Choose to remember yourself instead of falling into the dark room and enter into the shelter of your father's help. Remember what you know is true. Your father has placed you exactly where you need to be.
