The Wisdom to Walk Out on What Makes You Miserable

The seed of a spiritual life is to have our own life. Mostly we are actors feeling that we have to "do" something about ourselves. You have the right not to feel sad, heavy with remorse, hatred, regret, or fear, but you don't know that. Most people don't want to hear that they don't have to carry around pain.

There are physical, mental, and emotional forces that pass through us that our brains try to resolve. The brain wants to actively define. We live in waking dreams that we are unconscious of. The scene corroborates the state. We do not realize that what's in us produces the scene we see. The movement in life creates in us corresponding states. The scene justifies the conflict. There is a mechanism that produces the dream.

No negative state can stand by itself. Our identification with our past justifies its existence. Wake up!

The state and scene are classic opposites. If I just give up this dream, everything is OK. The state and the scene are one thing. The scene is an extension of the state.  Trying to resolve the scene magnifies the state. When you think about your life, your past, your future, you are in a dream.

Christ's life is about letting go. Who says you can't walk out of the movie? The scene and the state will both disappear when you exit the theatre.
