Summary

Doug: What if we are talking to a person who boasts and brags and yells, or a person who plows through life like a steamroller, calling others "bad seeds" like the old movie, they say... and they seem to have no conscience, repentance or introspection?

GF: "Off with their head!" It's not the person that I don't like. What I can't stand is my experience of them. They're not responsible for my experience. My experience is the byproduct of where my attention goes when the impression comes. If I understand the nature of the resistance to the impression, then my attention can be brought to the fact that within me is something that has no room whatsoever for anyone or anything other than what I want them to be. And if you want to know what hell is on this planet, it's living from that consciousness that insists and demands everyone treat you exactly as you expect to be treated. You are in a world of sleeping human beings. You are a sleeping human being. They don't know it. You don't know it. Awakening is not all autographs and sunglasses. Awakening is the revelation that my whole life, I have lived unconsciously from a nature that summarily rejects anything that doesn't meet its approval. And I'm tired of trying to win the approval of something that is trying to kill me, my opportunity to be a man or a woman who in this life awakens and fulfills the purpose of my existence. When you know beyond the shadow of a doubt that your consciousness as it is -- and all that it pursues through the content of itself -- does not know the purpose of life, it doesn't have a clue, then you'll begin to go through the process of dying to that consciousness because you will see it continues to push and push and push you to fulfill life the way it imagines it should be. Dying to that imaginary self is the sacrifice of the wax. It is the first that becomes last, and the last that becomes first, and all of the other scriptures that point to these facts about the possibility of us transcending our life to be born into a new one.
