Part 1
Given the values of the world in which we live today, it's no small wonder that the first of the beatitudes -- “Blessed are the poor in spirit” -- more often than not proves itself a painful paradox regarding the notion of real wealth; for the truth is -- as Christ taught -- that the less we take ourselves to be, the more we’re given to discover all that we are, and forever will be.
Part 2
It may seem as if -- of ourselves -- we can fight with, and win freedom from whatever may be the things we fear; but, in truth, the only real independence is being liberated from an unseen, (lower) level of self that is the father of fear itself.
Part 3
Real change can’t take place within us until we go through the fear of seeing that the whole idea of becoming “free” is exactly what keeps us from realizing a higher level of our own being: a Divine order or living light that can no more be made a captive of some unwanted moment... than sunlight can be caught in a jar.
